Successful Completion of First Phase of Hajj Security Plans

Colonel Talal bin Abdulmohsen Al-Shalhoub, the security spokesperson at the Ministry of Interior, made a stunning announcement during a daily press conference for the 2024 Hajj season. The first phase of security plans to guide pilgrims from Makkah to subsequent holy sites has been successfully completed.

Transition from Arafat to Muzdalifah

After spending approximately 12 hours in Arafat on Saturday, over 1.8 million worshippers officially made their way to the rocky plains of Muzdalifah in preparation for the final stages of their Hajj journey.

Implementation of Second Stage

Colonel Al-Shalhoub stated, “The second stage of the journey to the holy sites is currently being implemented to transport pilgrims from Arafat to Muzdalifah, where they will spend the night before heading to Mina for Eid Al-Adha.”

Arrests and Compliance

On the night of June 15, 25 individuals were arrested for violating Hajj regulations by transporting 103 individuals without permits. The Unified Security Operations Centers (911) in Makkah received 52,274 calls from June 14 to 15, ranging from security reports to service inquiries from pilgrims.

Smooth Operations and Cooperation

Undersecretary Ayed Al-Ghuwaynem of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah commended the tranquility and comfort witnessed during the pilgrimage. He attributed the successful operations to early planning and collaborative government efforts, along with cooperation from pilgrims’ affairs offices worldwide.

Healthcare for Pilgrims

Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulali, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, reported that over 112,000 pilgrims received healthcare services during the Hajj season from various providers, including clinics, emergency departments, hospitals, and intensive care units.
