British Steel Secures Multimillion-Dollar Deal for Egyptian Rail Project

In a groundbreaking move, a UK company has clinched a lucrative deal to supply rail tracks for a monumental infrastructure project connecting the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.

British Steel, the company at the helm of this ambitious endeavor, will be supplying a whopping 9,500 tonnes of track for an Egyptian initiative aimed at establishing a fully electrified, high-speed railway line spanning 660 km. Once completed, trains on this line are expected to reach speeds of up to 249.4 kph.

Jerome Bonef, the rail commercial export manager at British Steel, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled that British Steel has been chosen for this project and to play a crucial role in Egypt’s transformative transportation venture. This initiative is poised to bring about substantial enhancements to the country’s transport network.”

He added, “At British Steel, we take pride in offering value-driven solutions to our clients, ensuring seamless trade processes, punctual deliveries, and unparalleled quality standards.”

The inaugural shipment of rail line, crafted at the renowned Scunthorpe Steelworks, is slated to reach the Egyptian port of Alexandria this month, with a subsequent delivery scheduled for June.
