$10 million donation from Saudi aid agency boosts Ukraine relief efforts

Saudi aid agency KSrelief contributes $10 million to UN World Food Programme

In a generous gesture, the Saudi aid agency KSrelief has made a significant contribution of $10 million to the UN World Food Programme to support its operations in Ukraine. The agreement was formalized through a signing ceremony between Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, supervisor-general of KSrelief, and Cindy McCain, the WFP’s executive director.

Under this project, food assistance will be extended to orphanages, hospitals, and displacement centers in Ukraine, benefiting approximately 141,000 individuals from some of the most vulnerable groups. Saudi Arabia, through KSrelief, remains steadfast in its commitment to alleviating the suffering of displaced persons globally and enhancing food security in collaboration with specialized UN agencies.

KSrelief and Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization launch housing support initiative for Syrian refugees

In another compassionate endeavor, KSrelief and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization have initiated a housing support program for Syrian refugees in Amman. The project aims to assist 56 families of Syrian refugees, particularly focusing on orphans and widows, by providing them with suitable housing in a residential complex leased specifically for this cause.

Each of the beneficiary families will be accommodated in fully equipped apartments, enabling them to allocate their resources to other essential needs that are often compromised by the burden of monthly rent payments. The Jordan office director for KSrelief, Nayef bin Saleh Al-Shammari, emphasized the organization’s dedication to preserving the dignity of refugees, ensuring their access to education, and facilitating their integration into society.

KSrelief’s ongoing efforts in humanitarian aid and development projects

In addition to these initiatives, KSrelief has launched several development projects, including plans to enhance medical clinics in the Al-Zaatari camp in Jordan for Syrian refugees. The organization has also distributed over 5,600 food parcels to some of the world’s most vulnerable populations.

More than 30,000 individuals have benefited from the latest food delivery in countries such as Sudan, Bangladesh, South Africa, Montenegro, Albania, Indonesia, Benin, and Afghanistan. This support is part of the Kingdom’s Ramadan food aid program, Etaam, demonstrating Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to global humanitarian efforts.
