Yara Shahidi and Iman Vellani Steal the Show at Hulu on Disney+ Launch Event
At the star-studded Hulu on Disney+ launch event in Los Angeles, actresses Yara Shahidi and Marvel star Iman Vellani made a grand entrance. Shahidi, who has Middle Eastern heritage, chose a stunning look by Lebanese designer Salim Azzam.
Azzam’s fashion house is renowned for its dedication to Lebanese artisanal craftsmanship, with traditional hand-stitching techniques showcased in every creation. Shahidi’s ensemble, a hand-embroidered shirt dress made from smocking cotton, beautifully highlighted the brand’s exquisite workmanship.
Shahidi’s dress featured intricate bird-and-tree motifs sewn across its length, adding a touch of elegance to her red carpet look. Meanwhile, Canadian Pakistani actress Vellani, known for her role as Kamala Khan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, opted for a chic outfit by Coach.
Vellani stunned in a fitted skirt and denim jacket from Coach’s Spring/Summer 2024 ready-to-wear collection, showcasing her impeccable sense of style. The duo graced the event to celebrate the launch of Hulu on Disney+ in the US, where Hulu has been integrated into Disney’s primary streaming service.
Shahidi has been keeping busy in 2024, recently starring in a campaign alongside K-Pop star Jisoo, Irish Oscar nominee Paul Mescal, British singer Labrinth, and Hong Kong rapper Jackson Wang for Cartier. The campaign, released in March, celebrates Cartier’s Trinity jewelry collection turning 100 years old.
In addition to her fashion ventures, Shahidi also appeared in a campaign for French label Jean-Paul Gaultier in September 2023 and received a nomination for a NAACP Image Award earlier this year. The NAACP Image Awards honor outstanding performances in film, television, theater, music, and literature.
