Riyadh Municipality Revamps Zaabal Castle Area

In a groundbreaking announcement, Jouf municipality revealed that the project to transform the surroundings of Zaabal Castle is now 95 percent complete, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Sunday.

This initiative is a crucial step in the fight against urban decay in Saudi cities, as stated in the SPA report. The mayor of Jouf region, Atef bin Mohammed Al-Shara’an, emphasized that the development will not only boost tourism in the area but also preserve its archaeological treasures while seamlessly blending urban and heritage elements.

Al-Shara’an expressed the municipality’s bold vision to revitalize selected areas in Sakaka city, aiming to enhance the urban landscape and improve the quality of life for its residents. This includes the use of stone from Dumat Al-Jandalm, a city of ruins in northwest Saudi Arabia, to resurface streets and sidewalks around the castle, creating a harmonious link with the region’s natural beauty.

Moreover, Al-Shara’an highlighted the installation of traditional design lighting poles and the establishment of lush green spaces in the vicinity. These enhancements are set to redefine the ambiance of the area, promising a vibrant and inviting environment for locals and visitors alike.
