The 44th King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Qur’an Kicks Off Soon

Get ready for the ultimate showdown in Makkah as the 44th King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Qur’an is set to begin in early August. This prestigious event, known to attract contestants from all corners of the globe, boasts a jaw-dropping total prize pool of SR4 million ($1.07 million).

Categories Galore

The competition is not for the faint-hearted, as it is divided into five challenging categories. From memorizing the entire Holy Qur’an with precise recitation and intonation, following the seven rules of recitation, to interpreting its terms alongside memorization, there is something for everyone. Participants can also test their skills by memorizing 15 juz (parts) of the Qur’an, five juz, or even shorter lengths of memorization with corresponding recitation and intonation requirements. The competition truly pushes contestants to their limits.

Big Bucks for Winners

In the first category, the stakes are high with the top three winners walking away with SR500,000, SR450,000, and SR400,000, respectively. The competition promises not only a chance to showcase talent but also a hefty cash prize for those who come out on top.
