Saudi Authorities Crack Down on Drug Smuggling Across the Kingdom

In a series of recent operations, Saudi authorities have made significant drug-related arrests and confiscations, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Saturday.

Border Guard land patrols in Al-Ardah governorate, Jazan region apprehended a Yemeni national trying to smuggle 60 kg of qat.

Meanwhile, in the Saqam sector of Najran region, land patrols successfully thwarted the smuggling of 58 kg of hashish.

The General Directorate of Narcotics Control also made a significant arrest in the Hail region, where a Bangladeshi resident was caught attempting to sell methamphetamine, known as “shabu” in common terms.

Additionally, a citizen in Jazan was arrested for selling amphetamines, powerful and highly addictive drugs that stimulate the central nervous system.

All individuals involved in these illegal activities have undergone preliminary legal procedures, and all seized items have been handed over to the relevant authorities.
