Breaking News: Saudi FM Prince Faisal Hosts Crucial Arab Meeting on Gaza in Riyadh

Saudi Arabia Hosts Ministerial Meeting with Arab States to Discuss Gaza Situation

In a high-level diplomatic gathering, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan convened a ministerial meeting in Riyadh on Saturday with representatives from six other Arab states to address the escalating situation in Gaza, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

The meeting saw the participation of key figures such as Jordan’s Ayman Al-Safadi, Egypt’s Sameh Shoukry, Palestine Liberation Organization’s Hussein Al-Sheikh, UAE President’s diplomatic adviser Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, and Qatar’s Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi.

The discussions centered around the urgent need to put an end to the conflict in the Gaza Strip, calling for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, ensuring the protection of civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law, and removing all barriers hindering the delivery of crucial humanitarian aid to the region.

Furthermore, the ministers expressed unwavering support for initiatives seeking international recognition of an independent Palestinian state, emphasizing its significance in enabling Palestinians to take concrete steps towards realizing a lasting two-state solution.

Emphasizing the importance of establishing a State of Palestine based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital in alignment with pertinent international resolutions, the ministers underscored their commitment to safeguarding the Palestinian people’s right to their land and rejecting any attempts to displace them.

Additionally, the ministers raised concerns about Israel’s unlawful actions in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem that undermine the prospects of a two-state solution, including illegal settlement expansion, land confiscation, military incursions against Palestinians, settler aggression, and restrictions on religious freedoms for Muslims and Christians.
