Saudi Arabia Tightens Entry Procedures for Residents Ahead of Hajj Season
In an effort to ensure a smooth entry process for residents ahead of the upcoming Hajj season, Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Public Security announced on Friday that strict instructions will be issued for those wishing to enter Makkah.
Residents must obtain a permit from the relevant authorities, and failure to do so will result in being denied entry into the holy city.
To streamline entry procedures, the General Directorate of Passports has introduced electronic entry permits for workers in Makkah. This digital service, accessible through the Ministry of Interior’s online platforms Absher and the Muqeem portal, eliminates the need for in-person visits to passport offices, allowing applicants to submit documents online.
