Saudi Fashion Commission CEO Launches Red Sea Fashion Week
In a bold move to showcase Saudi talent to the world, the head of the Saudi Fashion Commission announced the launch of the inaugural Red Sea Fashion Week. Burak Cakmak, CEO of the commission, expressed his excitement about the event, stating, “With Red Sea Fashion Week we set out to forge a distinctive and dynamic platform that not only highlights the vast creativity and skill within Saudi Arabia but also elevates our nation as a key player on the global fashion stage.”
Cakmak emphasized the importance of integrating local talent into the international fashion scene, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals of enriching culture and expanding economic opportunities. The event is scheduled to take place from May 16 to May 18 at the new St. Regis Red Sea Resort.
The first edition of Red Sea Fashion Week will feature a fashion show on the opening day, followed by two days of side events showcasing luxury fashion, jewelry, ready-to-wear items, and resort wear collections from both Saudi and international designers. This initiative follows Saudi Arabia’s previous fashion events, including the first fashion week in Riyadh in 2023 and a pop-up event in Milan last year.
