Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Air Expands Routes and Destinations through Partnership with Saudi Tourism Authority

In a groundbreaking move, Saudi Arabia’s second flag carrier Riyadh Air is set to unveil a host of new routes and destinations as a result of a recent agreement with the Kingdom’s official tourism body.

The airline, supported by the country’s Public Investment Fund, recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Tourism Authority at Dubai’s Arabian Travel Market.

The collaboration between Riyadh Air and STA will open doors for joint sponsorships and participation in global trade shows and events, aiming to boost Saudi Arabia’s connectivity with the rest of the world.

Moreover, the partnership will introduce joint loyalty programs with exclusive rewards for guests, enhancing the overall travel experience to the Kingdom’s diverse landscapes and vibrant cities.

Strategic Growth Plans for Riyadh Air

STA CEO Fahd Hamidaddin expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the importance of expanding Saudi’s tourism industry to accommodate the ambitious target of 150 million visits by 2030.

Riyadh Air CEO Tony Douglas echoed the sentiment, highlighting the airline’s commitment to elevating aviation standards and enhancing the travel experience for passengers visiting Saudi Arabia.

Douglas also revealed plans to enhance the airline’s fleet, following the recent order of 39 Boeing 787-9 jets with options for 33 more, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s efforts to boost its aviation industry and attract more tourists beyond pilgrimage travel.
