Madinah Governor Emphasizes Importance of Equipping Public Places for People with Autism

In a recent development, Madinah Gov. Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz has underscored the significance of providing public spaces and creating programs tailored to the needs of individuals with autism spectrum disorder. This initiative aims to facilitate their active participation in the community.

A groundbreaking agreement has been formalized between Al-Madinah Association for Autism (Tamakkon) and the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards, designating Madinah as “an autism-friendly city.”

Governor Salman commended the pivotal role played by Tamakkon in enhancing services and enhancing educational opportunities for individuals with autism across the region.

During his visit, he conducted a thorough inspection of the Prince Faisal bin Salman Autism Center, taking a closer look at its state-of-the-art facilities and services. These include diagnostic and comprehensive assessment clinics, speech therapy clinics, and various departments offering holistic care starting from early childhood.
