Renovation and Development Works Completed in Al-Yanfa Heritage Village

In a bid to transform the historic Al-Yanfa heritage village in the Tamniah district into a top-tier tourist destination, municipal authorities in the Asir region have announced the successful completion of renovation and development works.

A Gem in the Scenic Al-Shaaf District

Al-Yanfa, located in the picturesque Al-Shaaf district of Asir, stands as a testament to the region’s rich cultural heritage. Just a short 45 km drive from Abha, the village boasts ancient buildings, mosques, and fortified structures set against Asir’s stunning landscapes. Its moderate climate and lush green surroundings further add to its allure.

Restoration Efforts Highlighted

Bandar Al-Nafiei, deputy secretary for projects at the Asir Municipality, emphasized the meticulous restoration efforts undertaken in Al-Yanfa. The project kicked off with the rehabilitation of pathways and courtyards, featuring stone paving that runs throughout the village.

To enhance the village’s charm, lighting fixtures were strategically placed along pathways and courtyards, as per Al-Nafiei.

Extensive Landscaping and Drainage Implementation

The transformation of Al-Yanfa also included extensive landscaping efforts that covered every corner of the village, from entrances to pathways and courtyards. Furthermore, a rainwater drainage project was successfully executed, incorporating natural wood elements, as reported by SPA.

Al-Nafiei pointed out that the village project, spanning over 60,000 sq m, was carried out using advanced engineering techniques. This approach was aimed at providing visitors with easy access to explore the village and delve into its historical heritage.
