Saudi Students Sweep ISEF 2024 with 9 Prestigious Awards

Saudi Students Shine at Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair

In an impressive display of talent and innovation, students from Saudi Arabia have once again made their mark at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles. For the 18th consecutive year, Saudi students have clinched nine special awards at the prestigious event.

Exceptional Achievements

The special awards were secured by outstanding individuals such as Jamal Mohammed Al-Luqmani in materials science, Elias Maho Khan in biomedicine and health sciences, and Layan Al-Qarafi in software systems. Areej bint Abdullah Al-Qarni also stood out with two special awards in materials science, while other winners included Fatima Al-Shakhs in environmental engineering, Lana Al-Mazrouei in cellular and molecular biology, Abeer Al-Yousef in chemistry, and Saleh Al-Anqari in chemistry.

Pride and Recognition

Dr. Amal bint Abdullah Al-Hazzaa, Secretary-General of Mawhiba, commended the collaborative efforts of Mawhiba, the Ministry of Education, and strategic partners in achieving success at the fair. She emphasized the significance of this victory in aligning with the goals and initiatives of the Saudi Vision 2030, showcasing the Kingdom’s global stature.

Continued Excellence

The Saudi Science and Engineering team has now accumulated 50 prizes from special awards at the ISEF over the years. As the results of the grand prizes are eagerly awaited, the Saudi team remains optimistic about securing more accolades at the event.

World-Class Competition

The Regeneron ISEF 2024, the largest pre-college STEM competition worldwide, is ongoing from May 11-17 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Organized by the Society for Science, this annual science fair attracts top talent from around the globe, providing a platform for young innovators to showcase their groundbreaking projects.
