Saudi Airlines Join Forces to Elevate Aviation Training Standards

In a groundbreaking move, Saudi Arabia’s two national airlines have come together to enhance the training of pilots, aircraft crews, and aviation employees through a new partnership.

Riyadh Air, the innovative company launched by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in March 2023, has inked a deal with the Saudi Academy, an institution affiliated with Saudia Group, the Kingdom’s national carrier.

The memorandum of cooperation, signed at the prestigious Future Aviation Forum in Riyadh, marks a significant milestone in specialized education within the aviation sector for Saudi Arabia’s national carriers. It aims to elevate training standards for pilots, aircraft crews, and air operations, setting the stage for the Kingdom to strengthen its position as a global aviation leader.

“This strategic partnership with Saudia Academy underscores our unwavering commitment to nurturing talent and enhancing excellence in the aviation sector. By leveraging our combined capabilities and expertise, we aim to establish a world-class training system that equips aviation specialists with the necessary knowledge and skills,” stated Peter Bellew, Chief Operating Officer of Riyadh Air.

The agreement will enable the two airlines to pool their resources and expertise to offer comprehensive training programs covering various specializations, including technical training, aviation fundamentals, ground operations, management principles, language proficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Furthermore, the collaboration will extend to executive education and training tailored to meet the professional development needs of leaders and decision-makers in the aviation industry.

Ismail Al-Kashi, CEO of the Saudi Academy, highlighted the significance of investing in training and development to uphold quality, air safety, and service excellence in the rapidly evolving aviation sector.

The Future Aviation Forum, expected to attract over 5,000 global aviation experts, airline leaders, and airport executives, will delve into key topics such as environmental sustainability, advanced air transport, and global connectivity within the civil aviation sector.

Aligned with Saudi Arabia’s aspiration to emerge as a leading player in the aviation industry by 2030, the event also supports the Kingdom’s goal of attracting $100 billion in aviation investments by the same year.
