Saudi Prince Dr. Mamdouh bin Saud bin Thunayan Joins King Abdulaziz Complex for Endowment Libraries
In a recent move, Saudi Arabia’s cabinet has appointed Prince Dr. Mamdouh bin Saud bin Thunayan as a trustee of the prestigious King Abdulaziz Complex for Endowment Libraries.
A Career Fueled by Academic Excellence
Prince Mamdouh has been making waves in the academic and energy sectors for years. Currently serving as the CEO of the King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy since June 2023, his career has been marked by a series of significant roles.
Before his current position, he held the prestigious role of president of the Islamic University of Madinah from July 2020 to May 2023. Prior to that, he served as the vice rector of Shaqra University from 2017 to 2020.
Prince Mamdouh’s expertise in electrical engineering is unparalleled. He was a professor at King Saud University and chaired the institution’s master’s program in renewable energy from 2016 to 2018.
His contributions to the field of sustainable energy are commendable. From 2014 to 2018, he led the Sustainable Energy Technologies Center at King Saud University. Additionally, he directed the Saudi Electricity Company Chair in Power System Security and Reliability at the same university from 2013 to 2019.
His involvement in various academic and research institutions is extensive. He worked as a part-time consultant at the Energy Research Institute at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology from 2013 to 2014. He also served as the vice dean of the Advanced Manufacturing Institute at King Saud University from 2012 to 2017.
With a doctorate in electrical engineering from McMaster University in Canada, earned in 2007, Prince Mamdouh has a solid educational background. He also holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering from King Saud University, obtained in 2000 and 1996 respectively.
