Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman offers condolences to Iranian President’s death in helicopter crash
In a heartfelt gesture of sympathy, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reached out to Mohammad Mokhber, the acting Iranian president, to express his condolences following the tragic deaths of President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and others in a helicopter crash earlier this week.
The Saudi Press Agency reported that the crown prince had a telephone conversation with Mokhber, during which he conveyed his kind sentiments towards the Iranian leader and his colleagues who lost their lives in the accident.
Mokhber, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the crown prince for his thoughtful words during this difficult time.
During the call, both leaders discussed the progress made in bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, emphasizing the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
The fatal helicopter crash occurred on Sunday, claiming the lives of the Iranian president, foreign minister, and six others as they were traveling through dense fog in mountainous terrain near Iran’s border with Azerbaijan.
