The General Authority of Civil Aviation’s roadmap, unveiled at Riyadh’s Future Aviation Forum, aims to elevate Saudi Arabia as a top global business and tourist destination.

The roadmap also targets a tenfold increase in the general aviation sector’s contribution to the GDP to $2 billion by 2030, covering business jets, charter, private, and corporate planes.

Private Aviation Thriving

He mentioned that the sector experienced significant growth in 2023, influenced by Vision 2030 and efforts to diversify the economy.

Expanding Opportunities and Technological Advancements

With the influx of multinational companies in Riyadh and increased foreign direct investment, the demand for private aviation is on the rise. Manufacturers like Gulfstream, Bombardier, and Embraer are focusing on luxury and technology enhancements to appeal to GCC customers.

Qatar Executive’s position as the largest operator for new models from Gulfstream showcases the region’s interest in cutting-edge aircraft technology. Saudi Arabian clients prioritize state-of-the-art advancements for their travel needs.

Future Prospects and Sustainability

Saudi Arabia’s aviation strategy aims to expand connectivity to over 250 destinations by 2030, with investments in specialized general aviation airports. The focus on sustainability includes plans for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and transitioning to zero-emissions aviation by 2060.

Advanced technology, artificial intelligence, and sustainable aviation fuel play crucial roles in driving the sector towards a greener future. By leveraging these innovations, Saudi Arabia’s private aviation industry can meet growing demand while leading the way in sustainable practices for the global aviation industry.
