First Group of Moroccan Hajj Pilgrims Arrive in Madinah

In an exciting start to their journey, the first group of Hajj pilgrims from Morocco landed at the Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah on Saturday. Their departure point? The Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca.

The Makkah Route Initiative

These pilgrims are part of the Makkah Route Initiative, a program designed to streamline the Hajj experience for travelers. The initiative focuses on electronic registration in the pilgrims’ home countries, covering everything from immigration procedures to health checks, luggage handling, and accommodation in Makkah and Madinah.

Ease of Travel

To ensure a seamless journey, the pilgrims are transported via buses along designated routes. Service agencies take care of delivering their luggage to their accommodations, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

Pilgrim Experience Program (PEP)

The Makkah Route Initiative is just one component of the Ministry of Interior’s Pilgrim Experience Program (PEP), a key aspect of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. This collaborative effort involves various government entities, including the ministries of foreign affairs, health, Hajj and Umrah, media, civil aviation, and more.

Prioritizing Pilgrim Care

Saudi Arabia’s leadership places a high priority on ensuring the well-being of pilgrims and fostering a sense of spiritual fulfillment during the Hajj journey. Recent arrivals have expressed their gratitude for the government’s dedication to providing a safe and comforting pilgrimage experience, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
