Saudi Economy Minister Meets with UN and OPEC Officials in Austria – Find Out What Happened!

Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning Meets UN Executive Director in Vienna

In a high-profile meeting in the Austrian capital, Vienna, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal Al-Ibrahim, engaged in discussions with the Executive Director of the UN Office in Vienna, Ghada Waly.

The main agenda of the meeting revolved around the collaboration between the Kingdom and the UN on the Sustainable Development Goals and other topics of common interest, as per the statement released by the ministry.

The meeting took place during the sidelines of the minister’s visit to Austria to take part in the ninth session of the Saudi-Austrian Joint Committee.

Aside from this significant meeting, Al-Ibrahim also had a productive session with Abdulhamid Alkhalifa, the president of the OPEC Fund for International Development, to discuss the upcoming initiatives of the fund.

Further enhancing diplomatic ties, the minister also engaged in talks with Austrian Minister of Labor and Economy, Martin Kocher, focusing on strengthening trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as discussing the latest developments of joint interest.

The meetings were graced by the presence of the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Austria, Abdullah Tawlah, adding to the diplomatic significance of the engagements.
