Saudi Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Commemorates Africa Day in Riyadh

The Palace of Culture in Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter was buzzing with excitement as Saudi Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji joined in the special event to celebrate Africa Day.

Accompanied by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to Saudi Arabia, Diaa Al-Din Bamakhrama, ambassador of Djibouti, and Iyad Tijani, head of the African Group and ambassador of Cameroon, El-Khereiji made a grand entrance to the festivities.

During the event, El-Khereiji emphasized the strong political and diplomatic ties that the Kingdom shares with African nations and organizations. He also underscored Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering cooperation and partnerships with African countries in trade and integration, while also enhancing consultation, coordination, and mutual support in international organizations on matters of common interest.

Africa Day, celebrated annually on May 25, serves as a reminder of the continent’s pivotal role in the fight against colonialism and its remarkable progress. It also sheds light on the challenges Africa continues to face in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
