Saudi Red Sea Authority Issues First Maritime Tourism Agent License to Cruise Saudi

In a groundbreaking move, the Saudi Red Sea Authority granted Cruise Saudi, owned by the Public Investment Fund, the first maritime tourism agent license on Tuesday.

Barbara Buczek, CEO of Destination Experiences at Cruise Saudi, received the prestigious license from Mohammed Bukhari, the VP for Coastal Tourism Operations at the Saudi Red Sea Authority, during a ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Jeddah.

Described as a significant milestone in the development of the coastal tourism sector, the authority highlighted the importance of this step in enabling and supporting the growth of maritime tourism in the region.

The issuance of the license and permit aims to regulate and oversee coastal tourism activities, providing a framework to encourage practitioners and investors in the industry to contribute to its sustainable development.

As a maritime tourism agent, Cruise Saudi will play a crucial role in servicing yachts and cruise ships, ensuring the implementation of best sustainable practices in marine navigational tourism activities. This will help facilitate vessel movements within the Kingdom’s waters while adhering to the highest standards of sustainability.
