Lucid Motors and EVIQ Join Forces for Fast Charging in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia Accelerates Electric Vehicle Adoption with High-Speed Charging Infrastructure

In a move to support the increasing adoption of electric vehicles in Saudi Arabia, the country is gearing up to activate high-speed public charging infrastructure. This development comes as a result of a new agreement between electric car specialists Lucid and Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Co., also known as EVIQ.

The memorandum of understanding aims to promote collaboration and the exchange of expertise in developing and enhancing the Kingdom’s EV sector. This partnership will not only contribute to the growing adoption of EVs in Saudi Arabia but also strengthen the country’s position as a leading hub for innovation and development in the industry’s technology.

Under the agreement, Lucid and EVIQ will work together to create a high-speed public charging offering for Lucid customers. This initiative will utilize EVIQ’s stations to provide fast-charging capabilities, making it easier for EV owners to charge their vehicles on the go.

Faisal Sultan, vice president and managing director Middle East at Lucid, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “By combining Lucid’s expertise in electric vehicle design, manufacturing, and sustainable mobility with EVIQ’s experience in developing and operating public charging networks, including fast-charging stations, we aim to drive innovation and accelerate EV ownership in Saudi Arabia.”

The partnership between Lucid and EVIQ addresses a key challenge hindering the mass adoption of electric vehicles – access to convenient and reliable charging infrastructure. Lucid is committed to simplifying the ownership journey and providing the best electric vehicle experience.

Mohammad Bakr Gazzaz, CEO of EVIQ, emphasized the importance of the partnership, saying, “Our mission is to empower drivers in Saudi Arabia to buy and use EVs with confidence by offering best-in-class EV chargers and technologies.” He added, “Through this collaboration with Lucid, we are one step closer to establishing a national network of fast charging locations by 2030, in alignment with the Saudi Green Initiative and Vision 2030.”
