Riyadh Travel Fair: A Showcase of Top Tourism Destinations

Top tourism companies pulled out all the stops to captivate the Saudi market at the Riyadh Travel Fair, a three-day event that concluded on Wednesday.

Held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center from May 27-29, the fair brought together leading travel and tourism firms from Saudi Arabia, the GCC, and beyond.

This platform serves as a hub for showcasing tourism products, services, and investments, attracting prominent global players in the industry.

Expanding Horizons: New Exhibitors and Exciting Opportunities

This year saw Riyadh play host to 250 exhibitors from 23 countries, including 13 tourism boards. Among the fresh faces were Georgia, South Korea, Egypt, Russia, as well as the cities of Almaty, Sarajevo, and St. Petersburg.

Rusudan Kokoladze, a senior specialist from Georgia’s tourism promotion office, expressed excitement about tapping into the Saudi market. She highlighted Georgia’s stunning landscapes and easy accessibility, making it a top choice for Saudi tourists.

Elene Gogelia, from the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, shared insights on the growing interest from Saudi travelers, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Exploring New Frontiers: Egypt, Bosnia, and Turkey Take Center Stage

Mohamed El-Sherbeiny, representing the Egyptian Tourism Authority, emphasized the strong ties between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, with a focus on the northern coast as a prime summer destination.

Faruk Caluk, from Visit Sarajevo, highlighted the importance of the Saudi market for Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially with recent visa developments opening up new opportunities for travelers.

The Turkish tourism and travel groups made a splash with a grand delegation at the fair, featuring popular actors from hit series like “Kurulus Osman” and “Dirilis: Ertugrul.”

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation made waves at the fair, showcasing the country’s allure as a premier travel destination. With 17 participants representing nine companies, Visit Maldives left a lasting impression on the Saudi market.
