Saudi General Staff Chief Attends Multinational Joint Exercise Observation Day

In a show of military strength and cooperation, Saudi Arabia’s Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Fayyad Al-Ruwaili participated in an observation day for the multinational joint exercise EFES 2024. The event marked the conclusion of the armed forces’ participation in the exercise, as announced by the Kingdom’s Ministry of Defense.

The observation day, graced by the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, saw Al-Ruwaili representing Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman. The exercise took place at the Kartal camp in Izmir, Turkey, with forces from various countries taking part.

During the exercise, the forces engaged in combat scenarios and field maneuvers, including close air support operations, live ammunition shooting with light and medium weapons, search and rescue missions, and drone threat response. The armed forces successfully met their objectives, focusing on planning and coordinating joint operations in a diverse operational setting.

The exercises not only strengthened military cooperation among participating countries but also enhanced the ability to execute joint combat missions using modern weapons. The event fostered cooperation between units to address unconventional threats effectively.

The observation day was attended by defense ministers, senior military leaders from participating nations, and the Kingdom’s ambassador to Turkiye. It was a testament to the shared commitment to security and collaboration among nations in the region.
