teamLab Borderless Museum to Open in Saudi Arabia
In an exciting expansion, teamLab Borderless museum is making its way from Tokyo to Jeddah’s Historic District, with doors set to open on June 10.
Founder Shares Vision for New Space
Arab News had a chat with teamLab Borderless founder Toshiyuki Inoko to get the scoop on his hopes for the upcoming venue.
Inoko revealed that the Jeddah location, the first in the Middle East, will showcase over 80 artworks.
“Our artworks are interconnected, constantly influencing each other. We create a fluid, borderless experience,” explained Inoko.
Immersive Artwork and Unique Sections
The museum will be divided into four main sections: Athletics Forest, Future Park, Forest of Lamps, and EN TEA HOUSE.
Upon entering, visitors will step into a world of perpetual change, with each artwork transforming the space.
According to Inoko, Jeddah’s rich history played a significant role in choosing the city as the museum’s new home.
“Jeddah’s historical significance and the unique blend of past and present make it the perfect setting for teamLabs Borderless. We aim to bridge the gap between tradition and modernity,” said Inoko.
Interactive Experience for Visitors
Inoko hopes that visitors will be captivated by the interactive nature of the museum.
“At teamLab Borderless, visitors can physically interact with the art, challenging traditional notions of beauty and offering a new perspective on the world,” he shared.
