Yara Shahidi Stuns in Vintage Christian Dior Dress at Cam For A Cause Gala

DUBAI: Actress Yara Shahidi graced the Cameron Boyce Foundation’s 2024 Annual Cam For A Cause Gala in Los Angeles on Sunday, turning heads in a vintage Christian Dior dress.

The part-Middle Eastern star made an appearance at the gala aimed at raising funds to combat epilepsy through research, education, and awareness campaigns. The event, organized by the Cameron Boyce Foundation in memory of the late US actor Cameron Boyce, who tragically passed away at the age of 20 due to an epileptic seizure in 2019.

Shahidi, with Iranian heritage, was seen at the event alongside other celebrities like US actress Sofia Carson and actors Taylor Lautner and Dove Cameron.

Sporting a Dior ensemble adorned with floral embroidery, Shahidi’s choice was fitting as the Harvard graduate and TV star serves as an ambassador for the luxurious French brand.

While Shahidi is known for her chic style, she recently opted for a look by up-and-coming Lebanese designer Salim Azzam at the Hulu on Disney+ launch event in Los Angeles.

The Lebanese fashion house is renowned for its promotion of traditional craftsmanship, incorporating hand-stitching techniques from the Chouf region into its creations. Shahidi’s outfit at the event beautifully showcased this craftsmanship.

The “Grown-ish” star graced the red carpet in a hand-embroidered shirt dress crafted from smocking cotton, featuring bird-and-tree motifs intricately sewn throughout the garment.

In addition to her fashion endeavors, Shahidi was recently part of a campaign alongside K-Pop star Jisoo, Irish Oscar nominee Paul Mescal, British singer Labrinth, and Hong Kong rapper Jackson Wang for Cartier.

She starred in the film and image campaign released in March to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Trinity jewelry collection.

Apart from her fashion endeavors, Shahidi also starred in a campaign for French label Jean-Paul Gaultier in September 2023. The 24-year-old actress was also nominated for a NAACP Image Award earlier this year.

The NAACP Image Awards recognizes outstanding performances in film, television, theater, music, and literature at its annual ceremony presented by the US-based National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

Shahidi received a nomination in the outstanding actress in a motion series category for her role in “Sitting in Bars with Cake,” a romantic comedy-drama film directed by Trish Sie and written by Audrey Shulman.
