Saudi Arabia and Kuwait Strengthen Ties at Second Coordination Council Meeting

In a display of unity and cooperation, the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait led the second Saudi-Kuwaiti Coordination Council meeting on Monday, as reported by Saudi Press Agency.

During his address, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan highlighted the council as a reflection of the commitment of King Salman and Sheikh Meshal to deepening the bilateral relations between their nations.

Emphasizing the significance of the council and its committees, Prince Faisal described them as essential platforms and institutional tools that shape the collaborative efforts of the two countries.

Expressing his dedication, the minister stated his intention to translate the outcomes of the council into tangible results.

Both Prince Faisal and Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya underscored the importance of political cooperation and joint coordination at various levels, aiming to advance mutual interests and promote security and stability in the region.

They highlighted the necessity of enhancing existing cooperation and coordinating efforts to combat terrorism and its financing, as well as exchanging experiences to ensure the security of their nations.

Commending the successful cooperation that has facilitated capital flow and intra-regional trade, they acknowledged the positive impact on mutual investments between the two countries.

They also lauded the ongoing development in sectors such as energy, industry, communications, information technology, infrastructure, real estate, and railway connectivity.

The ministers detailed the joint efforts of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to establish a unified vision for enhancing and sustaining cooperation in cultural, media, tourism, social development, and cultural exchange programs.

Furthermore, a joint cooperation program was signed between the Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies and the Sheikh Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Diplomatic Institute.

Additionally, two memoranda of understanding were signed, one focusing on the mutual recognition of seafarers’ certificates and the other on technical cooperation to protect and preserve the environment.

Prince Faisal, currently on an official visit to Kuwait, was warmly received by the country’s emir, prime minister, and foreign minister. He expressed his hope to host the council’s third meeting in the Kingdom next year.
