Boost Saudi Tourism: MoU with Taiba Investments to lure Chinese visitors

Saudi Arabia Expands Reach to Chinese Travelers with New Partnership

In a strategic move, Saudi Arabia is gearing up to tap into the lucrative Chinese travel market with a new partnership signed by the Saudi Tourism Authority. The agreement with Taiba Investments, a major player in the Kingdom’s hospitality and real estate sector, aims to develop tailored residential ecosystems and a network of hotels to cater specifically to Chinese tourists.

The collaboration includes a range of facilities and services customized for the Chinese market, along with targeted marketing materials. Hassan Ahdab, chief hospitality operations officer at Taiba Investments, emphasized the importance of this partnership in enhancing Saudi Arabia’s tourism offerings to China, the world’s largest travel market.

The agreement is in line with the Kingdom’s ambitious plans to boost passenger numbers, expand flight routes, and revitalize the tourism sector as part of Saudi Vision 2030. Ahdab highlighted Taiba’s commitment to making necessary investments to achieve these goals, working closely with the Saudi Tourism Authority.

Under the terms of the MoU, STA and Taiba will join forces in sales and marketing efforts to attract Chinese tourists, setting up specialized teams and launching collaborative promotional initiatives. STA will also provide support to Taiba Investments in establishing sales and marketing teams in Riyadh and Shanghai.

This partnership will facilitate targeted marketing campaigns to showcase Saudi Arabia’s cultural heritage and diverse tourism offerings to the Chinese market. Alhasan Al-Dabbagh, President of Asia Pacific Markets at STA, expressed the goal of making China one of the top three source markets by 2030, welcoming millions of Chinese travelers to the Kingdom.

The collaboration will culminate in a conference in Riyadh in 2024, bringing together industry leaders from Saudi Arabia and China to further boost tourism and strengthen ties between the two countries’ travel sectors.
