Security Forces Apprehend Eight Suspects for Transporting Hajj Violators
In a recent development, the Interior Ministry has announced that Hajj Security Forces have successfully apprehended eight suspects at Makkah’s entrances. These suspects were caught red-handed for transporting 28 individuals who did not possess the necessary Hajj permits, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Tuesday.
Breaching Hajj Rules and Regulations
The suspects, consisting of three non-Saudis and five individuals from the Kingdom, were immediately stopped for blatantly breaching Hajj rules and regulations. These violators had failed to obtain the permits required to perform the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj.
Penalties Imposed
The General Directorate of Passports’ seasonal administrative committees wasted no time in issuing administrative decisions against the offenders. Each suspect will now serve a 15-day prison sentence and pay a hefty fine of SR10,000 ($2,666) for each violator that was transported. Additionally, the offenders will be publicly named and shamed, with the non-Saudis facing deportation after serving their prison terms.
Impounded Vehicles
In a swift move, authorities have also impounded the three vehicles that were used to transport the violators. This decisive action sends a strong message to anyone attempting to flout the rules set in place for the Hajj pilgrimage.
Call for Compliance
The Ministry is urging all citizens and expatriates to strictly adhere to Hajj rules, regulations, and instructions. By doing so, all pilgrims can have a safe, secure, and comfortable experience while performing the sacred rituals of Hajj.
