Green Riyadh and Saudi Ministry of Sports Launch Community Tree-Planting Initiative
Riyadh was abuzz with excitement as Green Riyadh, in collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Sports, kicked off a tree-planting initiative on Thursday. The event coincided with Gulf Youth Day, celebrated annually on Jun. 6.
With the theme “Active and Responsible Gulf Youth,” the initiative attracted volunteers, athletes, and GCC delegations to join forces in making a positive impact.
People of all ages came together to plant trees and participate in various activities, showcasing the power of community involvement. The goal is to instill a sense of responsibility and encourage volunteerism among the youth.
By partnering with the Ministry of Sports, Green Riyadh aims to create a community that prioritizes environmental protection and sustainability. The initiative is part of a larger effort to plant over 7.5 million trees in Riyadh, significantly increasing the city’s green cover.
As part of the Saudi Green Initiative, this megaproject aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by enhancing urban environments and promoting a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come.
