Saudi Authorities Crack Down on Violators

In a swift and decisive move, Saudi officials have apprehended a staggering 12,974 individuals within a mere week for flouting residency, work, and border security laws, as per a report from the Saudi Press Agency issued on Saturday.

The breakdown of arrests reveals that 8,044 individuals were caught for residency law violations, 3,395 were nabbed for attempting illegal border crossings, and 1,535 were detained for labor-related infractions.

Of particular note is the fact that out of the 815 individuals apprehended for trying to sneak into the Kingdom unlawfully, 54 percent were Ethiopian, 41 percent were Yemeni, and the remaining 5 percent hailed from other nationalities.

The Ministry of Interior has issued a stern warning that individuals involved in aiding illegal entry into the Kingdom could face severe consequences, including a maximum 15-year jail term, fines of up to SR1 million ($260,000), and the confiscation of assets and vehicles.
