Border Guard officers foil attempt to smuggle 80 kg of qat into Saudi Arabia
In a swift operation, Border Guard officers in Jazan’s Al-Ardah governorate have apprehended several individuals suspected of trying to smuggle 80 kg of qat into the Kingdom, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Monday.
Qat, a shrub indigenous to the Arabian Peninsula, is a mild stimulant known for its less intense effects compared to drugs like cocaine and methamphetamine.
Authorities are calling on both citizens and residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking or smuggling to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.
