Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Declines G7 Summit Invitation
In a diplomatic move, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has respectfully declined an invitation to attend a communication session of the G7 Summit in Italy on Friday.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Crown Prince expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni for the invitation but cited his obligations to oversee officials in the Kingdom during the upcoming Hajj season as the reason for his inability to participate.
Despite his absence, the Crown Prince emphasized the strong relationship between Saudi Arabia and Italy and extended his best wishes for the success of the summit hosted by Italian authorities.
Italy to Host G7 Summit Amidst Hajj Season
Italy is gearing up to host the annual summit of leaders from the G7 group of major democracies from June 13 to 15 at Borgo Egnazia in the picturesque southern Puglia region.
Coinciding with the summit, the Hajj season is set to begin on June 14, adding an extra layer of significance to the international gathering of world leaders.
