JEDDAH’s Child Care Centers: A Haven for Young Pilgrims

As the Hajj season kicks off, 32 children’s hospitality centers in Makkah and Madinah have been established to provide a safe haven for children while their parents fulfill their pilgrimage duties.

In a joint effort between the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, these centers can accommodate over 1,000 children each day, catering to boys and girls aged 1 to 10.

Equipped with specialized teams of consultants and qualified trainers, the centers offer a nurturing environment for children to learn and play, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout their stay, according to Mohammed Al-Rizqi, the spokesperson at the HRSD.

Featuring amenities such as a dining hall, sleeping area, physical play area, and skill activity space, these centers aim to provide a holistic experience for young pilgrims.

Al-Rizqi emphasized the importance of the initiative in facilitating the Hajj rituals for pilgrims while ensuring the well-being of their children.

He stated, “The goal is to offer a safe and enriching environment for children, including health, social, and psychological programs, as well as recreational activities tailored to their age groups.”

With a focus on inclusivity, the services are available to children of all nationalities, with staff members proficient in various languages to cater to the needs of young pilgrims.

Al-Rizqi highlighted the multifaceted objectives of the initiative, which include raising awareness about child care during the Hajj season and providing guidance on best practices.
