Saudi Arabia Cracks Down on Drug Smuggling

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s drug control authority has taken decisive action against drug smuggling, leading to the seizure of large quantities of narcotics and the arrest of several individuals involved in illegal activities, according to a report by the Saudi Press Agency.

In Asir province, border guards successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 123 kg of hashish and 89,355 narcotic tablets. Meanwhile, in Jazan, four Ethiopian nationals were apprehended for trafficking 75 kg of qat.

The General Directorate of Narcotics Control in Riyadh also made significant strides in combating drug trafficking by apprehending two Pakistani residents who were in possession of 26 kg of methamphetamine.

Authorities in Saudi Arabia are urging citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drug smuggling or promotion.
