Meet Dr. Bander Al-Sajjan: The New Director General of the Institute of Public Administration

In a recent appointment, Dr. Bander Al-Sajjan has taken on the role of director general at the prestigious Institute of Public Administration. This institution is dedicated to enhancing capacity and offering strategic business development solutions to government entities in order to help them reach their objectives.

A Background of Excellence

Dr. Al-Sajjan has a rich history at the IPA, having held various positions including director of the business administration programs sector, deputy director general for quality and development, and director general of planning and development.

Prior to his time at the IPA, he was the deputy minister for relations and international collaboration at the Ministry of Energy and also served as a part-time advisor for the Ministry of Civil Service. Additionally, he worked as a deputy assistant for strategy and international affairs at the Capital Market Authority before being promoted to deputy.

A Network of Influence

Dr. Al-Sajjan is deeply involved in both local and international organizations. He serves as a committee member of the Preparatory Committee for Administrative Organization, chairman of the expert committee at the Arab Administrative Development Organization, advisory board member of the Journal of Security Research, board member of the Human Resources Development Fund, member of its Internal Audit Committee, and board member of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration in Belgium.

The Educational Journey of Dr. Al-Sajjan

Dr. Al-Sajjan’s academic background is equally impressive. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from King Saud University in Riyadh, a master’s degree in business administration with a specialization in finance and management information systems from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania, US, and a PhD in business administration from Brunel University in London.
