Jeddah Municipality Foils Attempt to Smuggle 1,243 Rotten Carcasses During Eid Al-Adha

In a daring operation, Jeddah Municipality thwarted an audacious attempt to smuggle 1,243 rotten carcasses during the festive period of Eid Al-Adha. This remarkable feat was achieved through the deployment of five strategic checkpoints at key entrances to the area.

The vigilant surveillance teams in municipalities to the south, in collaboration with slaughterhouse management and public benefit markets, received crucial support from security services in intercepting the carcasses, which were deemed unsuitable for human consumption.

Following the successful operation, 1,225 carcasses were promptly destroyed to prevent any potential health hazards. Additionally, the municipality took decisive action by closing down 409 illegal barns and 527 slaughterhouses in an effort to uphold food safety standards.

Furthermore, 1,594 vehicles that were illegally selling sheep at unauthorized sites were swiftly relocated as part of the municipality’s comprehensive crackdown on unlawful activities during Eid Al-Adha.
