In a groundbreaking move, the Saudi Ports Authority, MAWANI, has sealed a deal worth SR30 million ($8 million) with Global Environmental Management Services Ltd., also known as Reviva, to establish a cutting-edge complex for recycling marine and industrial waste at Jeddah Islamic Port.

The signing of the contract was officiated by MAWANI President Omar bin Talal Hariri and Saudi Investment Recycling Co. CEO Ziad bin Mohammed Al-Shiha, in the presence of several high-ranking officials.

This significant contract is a key component of MAWANI’s commitment to advancing environmental sustainability, safeguarding the marine environment, and bolstering a sustainable maritime sector that solidifies the Kingdom’s status as a premier global logistics hub connecting three continents.

This strategic collaboration amplifies ongoing endeavors to achieve waste management objectives in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, while also boosting the private sector’s involvement in supporting economic growth and positioning Jeddah Islamic Port among the top 10 ports globally.

MAWANI is dedicated to introducing innovative initiatives closely tied to the Saudi Green Initiative, which seeks to mitigate emissions, combat climate change, and strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors to expand the scope of related work and ultimately enhance the commercial appeal of the Kingdom’s ports on a global scale.
