Groundbreaking Saudi Women Inspire at London Empowerment Event

Saudi Women Leaders Share Their Inspiring Stories in London

A group of groundbreaking Saudi women took the stage at the Saudi Embassy in London, hosted by female advocacy group Johara Global, to share their experiences in leadership roles. These trailblazers are changing the narrative of female leadership not just in the Kingdom but also in the wider Middle East.

Raha Moharrak, the first Saudi woman to conquer Mount Everest; Sawsan Al-Bahiti, the first Saudi female soprano; and Nawal Al-Khalawi, a culinary artist, all discussed the challenges they have faced as women and how they have overcome them. Their journeys have redefined female inclusion in a society undergoing reforms as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

Reema Juffali, one of the first Saudi women to hold a motor racing license and recognized as one of the world’s most inspiring and influential women by the BBC, also shared her story at the event.

Katie Partridge, chairwoman of Johara Global, emphasized the role that men can play in women’s empowerment.

“Our mission is to support the evolution of women’s leadership through a culturally unified platform,” she said. “We also acknowledge the positive roles men play together with women for the betterment of their societies.”

Intisar Al-Yamani, the organization’s CEO, echoed this sentiment, stating that Johara Global is dedicated to providing a platform for like-minded women to inspire and give back to society. She emphasized that continuous learning is key to success.
