Riyadh Gears Up for Umrah Season with Ministry Meeting

In anticipation of the upcoming Umrah season starting on July 7, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah convened its first meeting with service providers for pilgrims on Thursday.

Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Abdulfattah Mashat, along with representatives from various authorities involved in Umrah and visitation services, gathered for discussions, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

Mashat emphasized the ministry’s commitment to excellence through collaborative efforts with partners across different sectors, with a strong emphasis on enhancing the role of the private sector in delivering top-notch services to pilgrims both locally and internationally.

The focus was on fostering cooperation between the ministry and service providers in the Umrah sector to ensure pilgrims from around the globe receive exceptional services that meet the highest quality standards, prioritizing their comfort and safety. The meeting highlighted the importance of introducing innovative services, including digital platforms.

Participants also explored the potential of accepting year-round license applications for Umrah service providers and establishing a classification system for companies and institutions in the sector.

Additionally, discussions revolved around laying the groundwork for a centralized digital platform by the ministry to serve as the go-to portal for all Umrah-related activities, enhancing service quality and reliability for pilgrims within the Kingdom and beyond.
