Saudi Arabia slams Israel for expanding West Bank settlements

Saudi Arabia Slams Israel’s Expansion of Settlements in West Bank

In a bold move, Saudi Arabia has condemned Israel’s Security Council decision to expand settlements in the occupied West Bank. The Kingdom’s Ministry expressed its “categorical rejection of the ongoing Israeli violations of international law” in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency.

Warning of potential consequences, the ministry urged Israeli authorities to reconsider their plans for settlement expansion. This comes in response to Israel’s finance minister announcing punitive measures against the Palestinian Authority for their actions on the international stage.

A senior Palestinian official denounced the move as a part of Israel’s agenda for a “war of genocide” against Palestinians. The Muslim World League (MWL) also joined in the condemnation, criticizing the Israeli occupation’s decision to expand settlement activities.

The MWL highlighted the severe violations of international law and resolutions by Israeli forces. These actions not only jeopardize security and stability in the region but also hinder efforts towards achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
