Egypt’s Tourism Revenues Soar to $6.6 Billion in First Half of 2024

In a remarkable turn of events, Egypt’s tourism revenues have seen a whopping 4.7 percent increase year on year, reaching a staggering $6.6 billion in the first half of 2024. This surge, as reported by the Ministry of Tourism, marks a significant 17.8 percent rise compared to the peak year of 2010.

The credit for this remarkable growth goes to the surge in inbound airline seats and hotel rooms in Egypt, enhancing the overall experience for travelers. This increase in numbers is in line with Egypt’s National Strategy for Sustainable Tourism 2030, aiming to attract 30 million visitors by 2028.

The country is working tirelessly to achieve an annual increase in incoming tourist traffic rates of about 25-30 percent, aligning perfectly with Egypt’s Vision 2030. Continuous monitoring and follow-up on incoming tourist traffic from key markets further contribute to this success.

The latest report also highlights that the total number of travelers arriving in Egypt in the first half of 2024 reached an impressive 7.07 million, almost matching the record set in 2023. Comparing these numbers to 2010 shows a remarkable growth trend, with a significant increase from 6.9 million tourists in the same period back in 2010. Egypt’s tourism industry is truly thriving, setting new records and attracting visitors from around the globe.
