Artist Layla Saleh Al-Shammari Showcases Diverse Resin Art Creations

Resin art involves the combination of liquid resin and a hardening agent to create solid and visually appealing shapes. Artist Layla Saleh Al-Shammari, with five years of experience in the craft, displayed a wide range of creations including accessories, home decor, wall art, pens, and serving platters.

Her work features techniques like sea wave and shell imitations, geode stone replicas, and the incorporation of natural elements such as plants and flowers. Al-Shammari also highlights local elements like coffee, cardamom, and the red sands unique to the Hail region.

Folk Art Performances and Traditional Dances Add to Festival’s Vibrancy

In addition to resin art, the festival showcases popular folk art performances, including the Saudi Ardah and Samri dances. These traditional performances, with sword dances and chants, captivate visitors and add to the festival’s cultural richness.

The Madinah region, represented by the Yanbu governorate, has a special pavilion at the festival. The pavilion features Hijazi architecture, including 150-year-old houses with distinctive “rawashin” windows. These windows not only provide ventilation but also enhance the aesthetic appeal of the region.

The Madinah pavilion includes models of old neighborhoods, a traditional fishing boat, and displays of utensils, clothing, and heritage models, aiming to promote the cultural heritage of the region.

Future Engagements and Cultural Exchange at Hail House

Faisal bin Salem Al-Juhani, the pavilion supervisor, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the festival events over the past three years. He looks forward to future engagements at Hail House, fostering cultural exchange and showcasing Saudi cultural heritage.
