Saudi Arabia’s KSrelief Provides Aid to Needy Families in Chad, Sudan, and Yemen

Riyadh: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in Saudi Arabia has been actively carrying out relief efforts to support the neediest and displaced families in Chad, Sudan, and Yemen.

Relief Efforts in Chad

KSrelief distributed a total of 2,032 food baskets and 1,175 shelter kits, benefiting 19,668 individuals in five areas across the three countries. In Chad, 1,400 food baskets were provided to the neediest families in N’Djamena, benefiting 8,400 individuals as part of the food security support project for 2024.

Support in Yemen

Furthermore, in Yemen, 632 food baskets were distributed to the most vulnerable groups in the Sheikh Othman district of Aden governorate, benefitting 4,424 individuals.

Aid Distribution in Sudan

KSrelief workers also extended their support in Sudan by distributing aid in three separate areas. This included 320 shelter bags in the Nile River State (benefiting 1,927 individuals), 455 shelter kits in Northern State (benefiting 2,617 people), and 400 shelter bags in Khartoum State (benefiting 2,300 individuals).

Continued Efforts

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), these initiatives are a part of a series of relief and humanitarian projects implemented by Saudi Arabia through KSrelief to assist the Sudanese people during their ongoing humanitarian crisis. Since its establishment in 2015, KSrelief has successfully carried out 2,670 projects worth more than $6.5 billion in 95 countries, in collaboration with 175 local, regional, and international partners.

The bulk of the support has been directed towards countries like Yemen ($4.3 billion), Syria ($391 million), Palestine ($370 million), and Somalia ($227 million). KSrelief’s programs encompass various sectors including food security, health, sanitation, shelter, nutrition, education, telecommunications, and logistics.
