Border Guard in Jazan Foils Attempted Qat Smuggling Operations
In a series of daring maneuvers, officers from the Kingdom’s Border Guard in Jazan have successfully thwarted two separate attempts to smuggle a whopping total of 320 kg of qat into the country, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Tuesday.
Three Ethiopian Nationals Arrested in Qat Smuggling Bust
During one of the operations, three Ethiopian nationals were apprehended for their alleged involvement in trying to sneak in 80 kg of the illicit substance. Not only are they facing charges related to smuggling, but they have also been accused of violating strict border security regulations.
240 kg of Qat Intercepted in Al-Ardah Sector
In a daring move, land patrols stationed in the Al-Ardah sector of Jazan managed to intercept a massive haul of 240 kilograms of qat that was being smuggled into the country. This successful operation adds to the Border Guard’s impressive track record of keeping illegal substances out of Saudi Arabia.
