AlUla’s Date Palm Boom: Over 3 Million Palms and Counting

ALULA: The Royal Commission for AlUla has made a groundbreaking announcement – the number of date palms in the region has skyrocketed to 3.116 million. Just earlier this year in March, the official count was “over 2 million.”

AlUla stands as one of the Kingdom’s prime hubs for date production, boasting palm farms sprawling across 16,660 hectares. Every year, these farms yield a whopping 116,000 tons of dates, with the Barni variety leading the charge as the most sought-after. The annual date harvest season typically spans from August to October.
