Mass Arrests in Saudi Arabia: Nearly 20,000 Violators Apprehended

In a series of coordinated field campaigns spanning from July 11 to July 17, a staggering total of 19,817 individuals were arrested in Saudi Arabia for various violations related to residency, labor, and border security laws.

Breakdown of Violations

Of the total number of arrests, 12,436 individuals were found to be in violation of residency laws, while 4,881 were found to be in violation of border-security regulations. An additional 2,500 individuals were apprehended for violating labor laws.

Nationalities of Violators

During the campaigns, authorities also intercepted 1,389 individuals attempting to enter the Kingdom illegally. Among them, 45 percent were Yemeni, 53 percent were Ethiopian, and 2 percent belonged to other nationalities. Furthermore, 48 individuals were caught trying to exit the Kingdom unlawfully.

Collaborators Apprehended

Nine individuals were arrested for their involvement in transporting, harboring, and employing violators, as well as for attempting to cover up their illegal activities.

Current Status of Violators

As of now, a total of 17,067 violators, comprising 15,394 men and 1,673 women, are being processed by the relevant authorities. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
