Sofia Boutella’s Latest Film “The Killer’s Game” Set to Hit Theaters

French Algerian actress Sofia Boutella recently took to social media to share the poster for her upcoming film “The Killer’s Game,” revealing that it is scheduled to hit theaters on Sept. 13.

A Bold Ensemble Cast

The poster, set against a striking red background, features Boutella alongside a star-studded ensemble cast including Dave Bautista, Terry Crews, Scott Adkins, Marko Zaror, Pom Klementieff, and Ben Kingsley.

Bautista takes center stage in the image, surrounded by his co-stars, each wielding various weapons such as knives, swords, and axes. The tagline “Winning is all in the execution” adds to the intensity of the poster.

Plot and Cast Details

Directed by JJ Perry and based on the novel by Jay R. Bonansinga, the screenplay for “The Killer’s Game” was written by Rand Ravich and James Coyne.

The film follows hitman Joe Flood (Bautista), who, after being diagnosed with a terminal illness, decides to put a hit out on himself. However, things take a comedic turn when the hospital mistakenly diagnoses him as not dying at all, leading Flood to evade a relentless stream of hitmen.

Boutella plays the role of the protagonist’s love interest, adding a layer of complexity to the action-packed storyline.

Upcoming Projects

Boutella also shared the trailer for the director’s cut of “Rebel Moon,” directed by Zack Snyder, on her Instagram this week.

The extended versions of the film, titled “Rebel Moon – Chapter One: Chalice of Blood” and “Rebel Moon – Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness,” are set to release on Netflix on Aug. 2. The new cuts promise additional scenes, alternate takes, and a revised sequence of events.

In “Rebel Moon,” Boutella portrays Kora, a mysterious figure in a peaceful moon settlement threatened by the tyrannical Regent Balisarius. Tasked with assembling a diverse group of warriors to defend their home, Kora’s journey explores themes of redemption and revenge amidst a backdrop of intense action.
