Riyadh Focuses on Food Production Localization and Aviation in Meetings with Brazilian Companies

In a strategic move to enhance production capabilities, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar AlKhorayef, engaged in discussions with key Brazilian companies during his visit to Brazil. The focus was on exploring opportunities for localizing food production within Saudi Arabia and advancing the aviation industry through international partnerships and advanced manufacturing technologies.

AlKhorayef met with executives from Minerva Foods and JBS, prominent players in the red meat and poultry sectors, to discuss potential investment opportunities, knowledge transfer, and the latest advancements in manufacturing technologies.

The minister also visited Embraer, a top Brazilian aviation company, to explore ways to enhance cooperation in the sector and localize operations within the Kingdom. This aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader vision to diversify its economy and develop sustainable industries in collaboration with global leaders.

During the visit to Minerva Foods’ facilities, AlKhorayef reviewed advanced manufacturing technologies and discussed potential investment opportunities with company officials. Minerva Foods, a key player in the Saudi market, has attracted significant investment from the Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Co. (SALIC), highlighting the Kingdom’s commitment to ensuring a stable food supply.

JBS, another major player in the meat and poultry industry, is currently establishing a food factory in Jeddah under the Seara brand, with a substantial investment. This partnership underscores Saudi Arabia’s dedication to attracting foreign investment and expertise to its growing food industry.

In addition to discussions on food production, AlKhorayef also met with Brazilian pharma companies to enhance the localization of vaccines and pharmaceuticals, emphasizing the sector’s importance to Saudi Arabia’s National Industrial Strategy.

The minister’s visit to Embraer facilities highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the Kingdom and the Brazilian company, focusing on leveraging Embraer’s expertise in aircraft manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance to advance the aviation sector in Saudi Arabia.
